Governor's Health Sciences Academy
The Governor’s Health Sciences Academy (GHSA) provides high school students with a rigorous course of study that will prepare them for high demand, high wage, and high skill health sciences careers. GHSA courses are offered in the therapeutic and diagnostic services pathways.
GHSA is located at Bruton High School and is open to all YCSD students in grades 9-12 in the York County School Division. GHSA students are required to meet the following criteria to complete the program successfully: take a mathematics and science course each year in high school, maintain a minimum of a 2.5 GPA, and earn an industry certification or at least nine (9) transferrable college credits. Students also need to pass three Health Science sequential elective courses. GHSA completers will earn the Governor’s Health Sciences Academy seal on their diploma.
