About Mr. Jenkins

I am pleased to introduce myself as your Career Coach for the 2023-2024 academic year!!  We get to learn and explore ideas together while I have the opportunity to help you with one of your most daunting tasks: figuring out what happens after high school and how to gain the workplace readiness skills necessary for success! I remember when I was in high school and desired to do nothing more than go to class, play sports, and wanting to go to college but not having ANY idea what college was about or what my future would look like. None of my older family members went to college and most had blue-collar jobs...but what was a blue-collar job??  Come see me...we'll discuss it!!

College was where I went (Delaware State University to be exact) to play football on an athletic scholarship and figure out my direction.  As it turned out, my post-high school life was filled with a wide range of experiences that I am grateful for now. I've worked in and have experience with many different career fields, which means I have plenty of insight to help guide your choices. Just to highlight a few of my experiences: I've worked as a foster care social worker, I've been a therapeutic counselor in a maximum security juvenile facility, a warehouse supervisor for the leading seafood production/distribution warehouse on the east coast, a purchasing agent for a shipyard contract company, and many other different occupations in the 17 Career Clusters you'll learn about.

I have a Bachelors Degree in Social Work and a Masters Degree of Education in Psychological Studies.  Maybe something you may say or do, or a combination of working with you can motivate us both to reach further heights in our career plans and goals!!  Every idea has a G.O.A.L. (Go Out And Learn).

Beyond my professional and educational accomplishments, I love sports, I love to cook on my grill and smoker, I love to ride motorcycles, and I love spending time with my family.

I'm looking forward to working with you!
